About Rewiring Hope Therapy in Texas

Our brains have the ability to get unstuck from the patterns they've always known (this is called neuroplasticity) but science shows we need a safe place to process so we can create new patterns that work for us.

There is also a system of parts inside you. Like how part of you wants to wake up early and work on that project in your mind, and part of you just wants extra sleep. The system was built to help you, but as life happens to you, some of the gears need adjusting to fine tune how it can best help you.

About Malia

My name is Malia Hagen. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor.

I come from a long line of humans with passion and depression and I've seen the way mental health impacts our relationships with ourselves, our partners, and our kids. I also have found freedom from these generational patterns to find myself in a relationship, family, and a career I love.

Mental health isn't about getting it right all the time, but being able to get back to who you know yourself to be if and when we get it wrong. This is called resilience and integration and I'd love to help you find these things in your life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our therapy services, processes, and policies.

What is therapy?

Many people choose to come to therapy for a number of different goals, which means having a goal is really an important part of the therapeutic process! Once the goal is established I help you look at what's getting in the way of you reaching that goal on your own and provide tools to help you figure out what to do to reach your goals. One of my main goals in therapy with each individual is to create a space where you feel SAFE enough to explore what you want, where you've been hurt, and what your strengths are so that you can more easily have the life you dream of.

How long is a session?

Normal therapy sessions typically last 55 minutes, but the duration can vary depending on the specific needs and goals of the client. Some of my clients prefer to come every other week for 120 minutes and find that it gives them good time to process between sessions and we can do more work at once. Win-win!

How often should I attend therapy?

My preference is for clients to come every other week for 90-120 minutes, but will consider other options for the sake of finances or severity of needs. The frequency of therapy sessions really does depend on the individual and your unique circumstances.

Do you offer online therapy?

Yes, I offer Telehealth therapy services for clients who prefer remote sessions or are unable to attend in-person sessions. If you'd like to come in person sometimes and come virtually others, that's ok too! Online therapy provides a convenient and accessible option for therapy.

Do you take insurance? What are your fees?

For a number of reasons, I currently don't accep insurance. Insurance requires that I give you a diagnosis, and wants to have access to our progress notes and I feel that takes away from building safety with you. I also find clients are more invested in their own growth when paying for therapy and that they see more benefit from our time together.
For individual therapy sessions my rate is $140 / 50 minutes.
For couples therapy sessions my rate is $220 / 90 minutes.
I also have sliding scale availability depending on financial need. Please contact me for more information.
